Question1:”I’ve had my ASUS laptop on AC power about a year. Now all of a sudden the light that comes up (when laptop battery is not at 100% and indicates its charging) is always on. Sometimes i look at the battery meter and it says 60% even! now the battery meter actually says 100% and its still on.. but if i unplug the power cord it goes to 60% again..”

Answer:”tried the recalabration thing in the bios left it for 12 hours and that.
Rang up ASUS and said what I had tried and it was not charging etc..
They said that the recal should only take about 4 hrs and it sounds like the asus laptop battery is stuffed.
So they then said send in the battery and a week later a replacement battery was received in the post and its been working fine.

If your battery is still under the 1 yr warranty but you cant get it to them now saying your O/S (Navs14) give them a call (the Australian Service Cntr) from where you are and ask them what you can do. Hopefully they will be able to accommodate you.

Question 2:”My ASUS UX50V Laptop battery keeps dying and won’t charge at first I thought it was a bad battery but then I went and bought a new one and it did the same thing twice any help as to what the problem may be why its not charging the asus ux50v battery???

Solution:”That laptop, I believe it’s built into the motherboard. There is a seperate board that comes off the motherboard that connects to the battery, but do not mistake that for having anything to do with the DC-DC circuitry. It’s just serving to connect the laptop battery to the motherboard (and i believe that daughterboard also has your CMOS battery, your card reader, and a USB port).

One thing that I just remembered (that might not apply to your particular problem) is that I saw a few Thinkpads back in the day that you had to clear their CMOS settings by pulling the battery to get them to charge a asus n61jq battery. I dont know why, and it probably doesn’t apply to your case, but it never hurts to try.

But if all else fails, and your’re sure your laptop ac adapter is good, hit up eBay for a board.
