The wonderful thing about laptops is their mobility. Without a working battery, however, a laptop becomes nothing more than a small desktop computer. Over time, laptop batteries start to lose their charge more quickly. As a result, the laptop user must stay close to electrical outlets at all times. Fortunately, replacing a laptop battery is quick and easy.

1.Purchase a new battery. Refer to your laptop owner’s manual to determine the type of Dell P11F battery you need. Compatible laptop batteries can be purchased from computer parts dealers, the laptop manufacturer, or an online auction.

2.Turn your laptop over and locate the dell p09e laptop battery compartment. Release the lock/latch and slide out the old battery. Refer to your owner’s manual if necessary.

3.Install the new battery by first aligning its receptor pins with the pins in the battery compartment. Push down on the opposite end to snap the battery in place. Secure the lock/latch mechanism by sliding it back to the original position.

4.Plug your laptop into an electrical outlet to charge the new dell laptop battery. It usually takes about 24 hours to complete the first charge. Subsequent charges will only take a few hours.

Tips & Warnings

For even more computing freedom, buy two laptop batteries so you always have an extra energy source ready to go.

Allow a fully charged battery to run down significantly before you plug in the laptop. Allowing some laptop batteries to discharge only partially can shorten their lifespan. Refer to your owner’s manual for more information about your particular laptop battery requirements.
