Question:“I have a Dell Studio 1535 laptop, and when i have the battery charger plugged in, the dell studio 1535 battery icon says “0% available (plugged in, not charging)”, and if i pull out the cord, the laptop shuts down straight away. Can this be fixed, and if so, how? I bought this laptop new around 6 months ago. Anyones help would be wicked!”

“Dell may well have knowingly sent you a faulty ac adapter. This is an issue many have suffered from. My laptop has all my work and school documents. When I accidentally move the cord like you mentioned, the whole computer shuts down like crashing and I lose all of my data. Not to mention these crash shut downs will harm my 1 yr old laptop.

I haven’t found a solution to this problem yet. I’ll definitely post it if I do. At this point, in an effort to promote accountability on Dells part and consumer advocacy I’m going to every complaint and tech site I know of to warn others. Dell should have been upfront as they knew of this design flaw. ”
