Question:”I’m interested in a HP Pavilion dv7-1260us laptop and i’m curious on the battery life of it.

It has 400gb hd, 4gb ram, Turion X2 Dual-Core processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 video card and plays blu-ray DVD’s.

I appreciate the help.”

Solution:

“it has alot of good stuff in it, but alot of that will use some good amount of battery. hp is great i’m guessing around 4 hours hp dv7 battery life. LISTEN ONCE YOU BUY THE PC CHECK THE MANUAL FOR BATTERY MAINTENECE if you don’t charge it right you will kill the battery. if you are gonna leave it at home on a desk, take out the battery and just plug in the laptop, so you dont drain the battery by accident.”

“I got my dv7 almost 2 years ago. Overall it works pretty well. It’s fast and I don’t think I’ve had any problem with software or bugs that couldn’t be cured by making sure everything is updated, uninstalling something or the running of free spyware.

The picture when watching videos is pretty clear and sharp. I have no problems using the mouse, but my mom has some difficulty and most older people I know who have tried it have a hard time with it, while my generation (collage age) have had no problem. Maybe it’s just harder in general for people with old eyes and not so great hand-eye-coordination? The common complaint of theirs was that the mouse is too fast.

The hp pavilion dv7 battery needs to be replaced (it lasts for only about 2 hours), but from what I’ve been told they tend to need to be replaced after 2 years anyway. I had an issue with the laptop ac adapter, but HP replaced that no problem. The panel started to separate where the hp battery charger plugs into the computer but HP fixed that, although in the process I think they messed up some wires somewhere b/c my computer went wonky the first time I turned it on after I got it back and it didn’t register my hp pavilion dv7 charger, which worked fine on my brother’s computer. I talked to HP customer service and they’re going to fix it for free so I guess it’s not that big of a deal.

The bottom of the computer and charger both can get VERY hot. Every now and then the fan gets kind of loud, but so far it seems to happen at random and it’s never enough to really disturb me.

I think the extended warranty is helpful if you intend to have the laptop for a while. I just bought it b/c if my computer wasn’t already covered this issue would have cost over $300. As it gets older there will probably be more problems so I’m sure it will come in handy.

HP Pavilion DV7 Battery Review

“I really like this battery. I no longer need to prop my computer up to comfortably type. It allows plenty of airflow. I received it five days earlier than expected. Increases performance and battery operation time considerably. They contacted me in short order to confirm order. It’s a great price considering the replacement price from HP or other places for the same laptop battery that came with my computer. I have the dv7-1464. Will certainly do business again! ”

“If you look for longer time hp dv7 battery,Don’t Need to Look Beyond This one. This extended battery last at least twice longer than my original one even with video and graphic concentrated applications. Also, the battery stickout from bottom elevates the laptop and let the air flow and cool the laptop. I like the price only half of the original, but twice the power with the cooling design. GREAT POWER for geeks “
